Braised Pork Chops with Ginger Sauce

  • 4 medium pork chops
  • 1 C. apple juice or cider
  • 1 C. fat free chicken broth
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 1/4 t. white pepper
  • 1 t. ginger
  • 1 T. cornstarch
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 medium apples
  • In a large heavy skillet brown pork chops. Remove from pan-- sauté the finely sliced onion until tender. Add sliced apple, ginger, salt, pepper, cider and chicken broth. Cover and simmer 30 minutes (or bake 350 degrees for 30 minutes).

    Remove from pan-- plate, leaving juices. Mix cornstarch with 1 T. water and add to pan juices. Simmer for 1 minute. Spoon sauce over pork, onions and apples.
