English Sausage Rolls

  • Pepperidge Farm frozen puff pastry
  • 3 16 oz. packages, Jimmy Dean Sage or low fat sausage
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 t Salt
  • Open each sheet and cut along the fold, this should give you three rectangles per sheet. Roll out, using lightly floured rolling pin, each rectangle into about 7x10 inches.

    Spread 1 pound of sausage onto each pastry, leave a half inch around the sides. Starting from the long side roll into log. Mix egg and salt together and brush onto roll. Cut into 1" pieces. Place on ungreased lined baking sheet, you can use parchment paper or a Silpat or lightly oiled. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes.

    Garnish with fresh sage sprig! Also, they freeze wonderfully!
